| I consider myself a “grassroots Republican,” although I have voted for Democrats and third-party candidates when I felt they were more qualified. If you are a prospective employer who disagrees with me on this, please note that I try to leave all political discussion and activity away from the workplace. During the 2008 political campaign, someone wrote on a website that I followed at the time that they wanted to know how to become a delegate to the Republican National Convention. Since I was interested in becoming a delegate as well, I gathered whatever information I had and wrote an article “How to Become a Republican Delegate.” It became popular and because of it I even appeared on the Francene Show on WHAS Radio. I became one of the leaders of a movement to take back the party from the “country club” set who ran it at the time. We failed, mainly because the rules were skewed against us, but will possibly try again in 2012. I say “possibly” because the local party has made some progress in the meantime, admitting to some of their extreme-ness, but not to others. | |
