Welcome to AnyOtherSource.com

The benchmark that others compare themselves with. The website of Larry J. West, MCSD, of Louisville, KY. Better than a blog -- it's information you can hopefully use!

Greetings!
This website combines a lot of my interests and hobbies that I had on other places on the web into one centralized location to make updating and maintenance easier.

I chose the name "AnyOtherSource" to help me remember that since others will be comparing themselves to me (as in "More people get their _____ from _____ than from any other source"), I had better be good. If your website averages more than about 20 hits per day, you too can compare yourself to this website. :-)

If you found this website because you are looking for a great employee, then you don’t need to look elsewhere. (If you do look elsewhere, please let me know why.) For those looking for my resume, I have included it here. I am working on other resumes, one geared towards an Adjunct Faculty Member/Instructor position, one geared towards a Bivocational Minister position and one geared towards a Software Manager position that will double as part of my application for the Project Management Professional (PMP) exam, but these are not ready yet. Of course, you are still welcome to hire me as a project manager, which will allow me to add to my PMP preparation.

Of course, this website has stuff other than my resumes. These are divided into ten main areas as listed in the menu on the left:

          Certification Study Guides

          Political Information

          Kentucky Highways

          Languages

          Religion Related Items

          Graduate School Info

          Job Hunting Information

          Dulcimer Playing

          Model Railroading in Education

          Not Elsewhere Classified

One of the newest pages is the "Perpetual Calendar," which will help you determine the calendar from 44BC to the year 4000! This was develop to show that Harold Camping is wrong when he says April 1, 33AD was a Friday. As you can determine by the calendar, it was actually a Wednesday.

If you want opinions, there are myriads of other websites you can visit. My goal here is to provide you a site that will give you information, hopefully something that you find useful and/or interesting. In spite of the comparisons by ABC News and others, this is NOT a news site, and is not updated every day. Updates are listed below as they occur.

I hope that you will enjoy this website. Feel free to send any comments that you may have. I am sorry that I will not have an online comment section for this site, but on previous sites I received too many spam messages. I will incorporate any good comments into the site. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Larry J. West, MCSD, MCPD, MCITP, MCTSx9, MCSA, MOSx2, FLMI, ACS

NOTE: To those doing background checks on me, There is another Larry West who lives in Louisville, KY that has been a convicted felon and is or was a member of the Nazi Party. I am NOT that person. (Compare the ZIP codes: He lives in Jeffersontown -- I live in Fern Creek. Also, his middle initial is not "J".)

 What's New on this Site:
Here are some of the latest additions to this page:

2012 Presidential Candidate List - Table listing the views of various people running for President of the United States.

Windows Server 2008 - As I am teaching Windows Server 2008 classes part-time at National College, I thought it would be a good idea to update my page. Good thing, as they have updated some of the exams' skills measured section. The 640-649 page still has the old information, if you want to compare.

Perpetual Calendar - Tables that allow you to determine when any date occured. Useful for when some cult leader claims the rapture will occur on 21 May, 2011 to show that the day he is basing it off of is wrong, and to find things like what day of the week you [or anyone else] were born.

Bible Manuscript Verse List - A list of which papyri and uncials each verse in the New Testament has. There are a lot of websites that list which verses go with which manuscript, but as far as I know, this is the only list of its kind on the Internet that lists what manuscripts go with which verse.

I hope you enjoy the changes.
What I am Working on Now:
The 2012 election is coming up, and to help me decide whom to support, I'm developing a 2012 Presidential Candidate List. It will list the views of all the major candidates (and perhaps some of the minor ones as well). During the primary season, I will list the votes received by each candidate as well.

One of my most visited pages is the list of job websites for Louisville, KY companies. I realize that this list is outdated, so I plan on updating it. I have already included information regarding the top-50 employers as listed in the Business First of Louisville. If you know of companies I am omitting, let me know.

Also, I am updating the Visual Studio 2010 exams page in preparation for taking an exam or two should I get an employer that will pay for them, as well as a new page covering SQL Server 2008 exams.

I will also begin a 2012 candidates list after the Nov. 2011 elections, but this might be delayed until redistricting is completed.

Contact me if there is anything in particular you think should be added or changed.

All suggestions will be considered.
